Information Bulletin - Building Owners and Managers
It is paramount that an owner is aware of the difference between
the existing site conditions and to what extent a building or buildings
do not comply with the current day Building Code of Australia (BCA)
requirements. State and Territory legislation only allows the municipal
council or the relevant state fire authority to force an owner
to upgrade a building by performing building works.
A Building Code of Australia Compliance Audit will
allow a client to recognise the major BCA requirements
that are deficient in a particular building or buildings
and with our suggested building works, reach a standard
that if the municipal building surveyor or the local
relevant fire authority inspects the building, it
can be demonstrated that the building complies with
the relevant provisions of the state and national
based legislation, thus avoiding possible legal proceedings
and penalties been instigated or issued to the property
owners/manager.
